Bentleyville Tour of Lights is a tradition for our family, so when Visit Duluth suggested we shoot the incomparable Christmas light display we were more than excited.
The challenge with shooting a holiday light display is the massive crowd and high contrast between the lights and the dark night's sky. We tackled this quandary by shooting long exposures to blur the crowd. This also allows viewers to focus on the lights while conveying a sense of movement in the energetic crowds.
